Research Interests

My research topics are focused on hydrobiology and environmental protection. I am interested in phytoplankton ecology of lakes of different types of trophy, especially Chara-lakes. My research focuses on the phytoplankton-macrophytes relationships, phytoplankton spatial diversity and the impact of climate change on the functioning of aquatic ecosystems.

Current study topics

  • The impact of charophytes on the spatial and morphological diversity of phytoplankton in lakes

  • The influence oftannins on selected phytoplankton species in ex situ conditions

  • Allelopathy - in situ relationships of phytoplankton with Nitellopsis obtusa and Myriophyllum verticillatum

  • Climate changesand the functioning of lakes on the example of the phytoplankton - macrophytes relations
